"rules" on written text are a crime against style and personality. this text is my text and you can't fuck with it
capitalize every sentence? no. capitalize every proper noun? fuck you. only use periods to end sentences? i can like. do what i want, you know
if you want to do these things, you are entitled to doing so. you are also entitled to not closing your sentences with periods
there are tangible benefits to disregarding the rules. your text doesn't have to be lifeless and boring. you can make your text beautiful and personal the same way you do when speaking (even if you don't notice you're doing it). you can use more than the purest standard for your words to portray yourself
please also think outside the metaphorical box. everything in your text can belong to YOU and YOU only. spacing? that's yours. scaling? that's yours. you can forgo every punctuation mark and just use different spacing to mark separations between ideas isn't that beautiful and you don't have to get all caught up in consistency - the ideas you're sharing are just as amorphous and beautiful as your text can be
i write my notes with hanging indents instead of first-line indents because i think hanging indents are stylish. this is despite the fact that it violates some arbitrary fucking standard that pretentious people (such as some of the teachers who have confronted me about doing this) seem to care about i am not pretentious people nor am i willing to succumb to the absurd whims thereof - i urge you to consider this viewpoint for yourself
i don't recommend doing this when there are real repercussions but i can't (and wouldn't want to) stop you so if that's your calling in life then go off girl
